Pick a grain
free work | pencil on paper | 2024
What I always find fascinating on my walks is the for ever waving reeds near the water. The feathers and stems are always engaged in a dance, a mesmerising ballet, a game of hide and seek with the wind. I always want to capture that feeling in a drawing, I always fail. Therefor I sometimes pick a grain and place it in a cup near my desk. I push it gently, the feathers wave at me...a tango for two.
